Ladies Open Triples

Due the sad loss suffered by the Lady Preident, Sylvia Pidduck, the Club President, Graham Lock, performed the opening ceremony and allowed 42 visiting ladies in 14 teams to commence battle for a first prize of £120 and the honour of holding the Walter and Randell trophy for a year
Play Gets under way in the CBC Ladies Open Invitation Triples
Play throughout the day the was extrememly competitive and the Club Chairman, Stan Coombs, who was the umpire for the day, was kept busy measuring several very close heads.

With so many ladies exerting so much effort they were clearly going to be in need of sustainance at lunch time and they were not disappointed. Their every need was catered for by the willing band of volunteers who occupied the kithen area. These ladies did a wonderful job with the lunches and cakes and were ably assisted by John Cheetham who served the wine and did the washing up!

Another male member of the club who provided valuable assistance was Mick Carr who ensured that the schedule ran smoothly. At the end of a very enjoayable day the winners were thr team from Wingets, with Northfleet runners up and Woodlands Park in third place.
The winning Winget's team of Rosemary Payne, Iris Marsh and Greta Young
Runners up Jeanette Johnson, Jean Eslick and Glenda Langford of Northfleet Third placed Marjorie Fryes, Dorothy Ditton and Margaret Watt of Woodlands Park

The weather held up and the whole event went extrememly well with CBC receiving many compliments on the day. Congratulations to all those involved.
