May Bank Holiday Bowls Drive
Twenty-nine club members attended a bowls drive on Bank Holiday Monday in glorious sunshine (which makes a nice change as last year's was cancelled due to torrential rain).
After playing 20 ends the overall winner was the organiser David Turner (a popular win) with an overall score of +42 shots. In second place was John Cheetham with an overall score of +22 shots and in third place was Colin Herbert with an overall score of +21 shots. Both the 'spider' at the beginning of the game and the booby prize (for an overall score of -27 shots) were won by Derek Kember.
The members enjoyed a buffet tea after the game and raised a useful £58.50 for the club. There will be another bowls drive on the next bank holiday, which is 26th May. This one will be at 10:30am.
