Portmellon is located just three quarters of a mile from Mevagissey, and is a picturesque cove with a sandy beach ideal for all types of watersports. There is a free public slipway available for launching boats, and the tide fully washes the beach twice daily ensuring its cleanliness is maintained. Mevagissey, a picturesque working fishing village has a wonderful selection of small shops including a post office, launderette, chemist and mini market. There are many restaurants, cafes and teashops catering for every taste by the delightful harbour. There are regular boat trips departing from the harbour and a Ferry service to Fowey runs from May to October. The Lost Gardens of Heligan are ten minutes away and the famous Eden project is just 13 miles from Portmellon. St Austell is about 6 miles and has an extensive choice of shopping and leisure facilities. There is a large Asda store on the way in to St Austell, providing food clothing and petrol, as well as a Tesco store again providing food and petrol at Holmbush on the eastern side of St. Austell. Gorran
Haven is tucked away on the south eastern tip of the Roseland peninsula,
and is one of those remarkable Cornish coves that most visitors to Cornwall
will not find. Just six miles away, the lane winds downhill following
the valley floor towards a small harbour and sizeable sandy beaches. Most
